I finished Leslie's RR on May 19 and mailed it out to Karen in Australia. I stitched Prairie Schoolers Rain, Rain go away......just without rain :) Here's a picture:

and one of the whole RR:

I really like how it turned out.

I'm done! :-)
Yesterday was my last day of work with Stream'n'Wood. It was a very intersting time and I had a lot of fun working with the gals. It's such a nice bunch of people working there.
Now I'm having a long, long weekend before I start my new work.
We are going to spend friday and saturday in Minot, ND, USA. It will be our 2nd trip to the States. I'm so looking forward to it....
It looks like the winter's coming back....after a wonderful warm weekend with 22 Celsius the temperature is down to -3 Celsius and it is snowing ... brrrrr ...stitching weather :-)))
See you later.

A little update on Winter Holiday. Now that the winter seems to be nearly over in Manitoba I should hurry up to finish this cute little snowman :-)

I stitched a bit more on Leslie's Hello Neighbor RR. Hopefully there will be a lot of stitching time this week as I'm just for monday and wednesday afternoon scheduled to work.

And next week I'm starting on a new job!!!! I'm so excited! That one will be a fulltime job....more money but less time for stitching :) I will see how it works out......

Hopefully I will get rid of the cold I have for 3 weeks now before starting the new job. I don't want to start it sneezing and having a sticky nose...

RR's

I also finished my little stitching on Glenna's RR. The original french design was in completely different colours but I tried to find some that looked nice with the other ones beeing already on the RR.

This was the RR when I sent it to Karen in Australia:

On monday 24th of april I got Leslie's RR in the mail and started stitching immediately. I want to send the RR prior to the mailing date which is june 1st.

And here ist what I stitched so far. I'm sorry that it is a little bit blurry:

I'm back again. :-) Life was quite a bit busy during the last weeks....
There wasn't a lot time for stitching. But I finished the Heart Treat Bag by Shepherds Bush and sent it to my friend Manuela.
And she had the wonderful idea of letting her friends each stitch a heart for her Carriage House Samplings Friendship Sampler.

Thank you very much for all your nice comments on Prairie Sampler. I loved reading every single comment....just as always :) comments are so much appreciated.

I was a bit restless last week and couldn't settle on a project...so I started several new !?!?! and put a few stitches in an older project Toccata 2. Here's a pic of it how took it out my WIP-box

and one how it looked when I put it back in there ;)

On friday I got mail from Jennifer my favorite online store. She's so wonderful nice and friendly and her service is phenomenal. I ordered from her when I lived in Germany and I still do it. ;)

She sent me some 32ct grean teal linen fabric (the darker one) and these WDW fibres:

and so I started a new project immediately..... That's how it looks now. But I definetly want to finish this one soon. The colors on this pictures don't do it justice. It is so much brighter in real life....

Last Monday it was Louis Riel day and we had a day off. We went out for a walk and a little bit tobogganing. It was really cold again. The temperatures are going up and down like mad....

Nothing to show you. Coz' as I wrote yesterday Lisa and I went swimming in the evening and guess who was dead beat after that.......me (and Lisa) LOL
I was so tired I didn't stitch at all I went straight to bed :)

....but tonight I'm stitching up a storm LOL

....and again I put a few more stitches in the Prairie Sampler.

Derek and Lisa picked me up after work and than we went to get some passport pictures. Why do passport pics always have to look so awful? Is it to make the guys laugh you have to show them to???? They make me always look like a criminal... :) Don't worry, I'm not going to show mine... LOL

A little progress on Prairie Sampler but I have to hurry if I want to be finished with this one before starting something new at the weekend. It's not that I don't like stitching on this one any more (the design is a big fun and stitching with the Belle Soie Silk is great) but I LOVE to start new things and at least I want to finish this one (even better if I get the Lovebird finished by then...) before another newstart.....

Tuesday, February 05, 2008

I decided which colors to use for Glenna's Hello Neighbor RR and started with a tree. I plan to finish this RR in february and send it immediately to Karen in Australia assuming that is OK for her. I was so often late in the past....and never want to be late again. Not to much to see right now....the big white space is some fabric shining through :)

I have to hurry with Prairie Sampler and the little Lovebird....I've a NEWSTART in my mind.........

Monday, February 04, 2008

I decided to put some stitches in AAFG in the evening. Maybe I can finish it this year ... or is that a little bit to optimistic for me? ;-) We'll see.....
I enjoyed stitching on it very much so I will hopefully get back to it very soon.

While we are having a light snowfall the whole day long, I spent a lot of time on stitching my Prairie Sampler. It is so cozy to sit at the window in the livingroom while the snow is falling down.
Lisa is busy with her legos and drawing pictures and DH is looking for a motorbike on the internet ... I love these lazy sundays :)

Friday, February 01, 2008

I was a bit lazy with my stitching during the last days.... I started to unpack my craftboxes and gave my sewing machine a try. But that's not a lot of fun unless I haven't found all the necessary things like the rulers and the cutter and lots of other things you need. So I've just a very small progress on Midsummer Night Designs freebie to show:

It is even colder today.....

brrrrrrrr.... it is sooooo cold.....
this morning it is -32 degrees C (about -25.6 F). We had that before. But with the windchill it is -52 degree C ( about -61.6F). Can it get any colder?????
I dont't walk to work anymore. I dropped off DH and DD and take the car today....chicky me ;-)
Monday evening I attended my first Wheat City Needle Arts Guild meeting and it was such a fun to meet fellow stitchers. And though we did a lot of chatting we still did some needleworking, too :) We met at Riverheights Terrace a very nice retirement home. That'd be a nice place to live beeing a few years older.... ;)
It's just around the corner from where we now live and I planned to walk there but the blizzard monday evening stopped me from doing that.

Tuesday, January 29, 2008

Nicole posted on sunday about the new Midsummer Night Designs Freebie and I just loved the colors. I had to start it immediately yesterday evening...Not a lot to see right now as my stitching time was very limited yesterday due to some important paperwork that needed to be done but it is a start :)

....And yesterday evening I was off meeting the ladies from the Brandon's Chapter of the Canadian Needleworkguild.....gonna tell you later about that... ;)

Sunday, January 27, 2008

DH built some shelves and and a table for my stitching/sewing-room yesterday. He's not finished yet but I can start to unpack my stitching and other crafting stash that is still in cardboard boxes from our big move. I'm so happy about that....

After a late dinner I was so tired that I wasn't in a stitching mood at all. But I forced myself to put in a few stitches at least....but after I did the first stitches I was hooked and stitched till midnight and made a nice progress :-)

Yesterday I went to my local needlecraftshop because they were listed as a retailer on the Glendon Place homepage because somewhere in the net I saw WIP pictures of Glendon Place's Pretty Pumpkins . I love the colors of the pumkins they are so wonderful bright but I don't like the leaves so I wanted to see the chart in real maybe I can just stitch the pumpkins without the leaves.... Unfortunately they didn't have the chart in stock but they are ordering one in for me .... they are so kind. And this lovely lady working there invited me to the guild meeting on monday evening....wohoooo I'm so excited to meet other stitchers.

Though my stitching time was very limited this week I got a little bit on Prairie Sampler done.

Peg, I'm going to set up a blog for the AAFG-SAL and will send an invitation to you. Hopefully we will find some more stitchers to stitch along with us :-)
