House of the rising sun

is finished. Terri that is exactly the song I had in my mind while stitching on it. Even though New Orleans is not even near to it :) Weren't that the Eagles who sang the song?

And here a picture especially for my friend Manuela. Please ignore my double chin...I have no clue how or when I got that but it is there....*grrrr* Look at bit more to the bottom and see little Lisa's and my pink CROCS!!! :) We got them last week and WE LOVE THEM. They are so warm and cosy. When I first came over to Canada and saw the Crocs I thought that I would never wear "these plastic shoes"...... LOL

Your LHN is turning out so lovely! This latest house, the west coast one is so colorful. It looks like it must have been fun to stitch.

I think House of the Rising Sun was by the Animals - I'd have to check though. Your LHN is really progressing! I really love it!

Yup, House of the Rising Sun is by the Animals . . . I love that song!! I used to plan my mom & dad's LP all the time . . .

Bine, I've been reading your blog since you were "stitching in the Netherlands"

You'll have to look into coming to
EAC Seminar in Regina Sask in 2010 so we can meet!! It's going to be great!!

Hi, Bine!! Did I tell you how very much I love the square you finisihed on my "Neighborhood RR?" It just made the whole thing come together. Thank you so much!!
I know what you mean about those crocks. I saw DD, Jessica, in them and told her they were horrible...then 5 mos. later, I have them in hot pink, bright green and black!!! LOL Love and hugs, Deb
PS: I was happy to see your pic with your sweet little girl.

Hi Bine
thank you for your comment. the beaded heart wasn't too difficult - we drew the heart on a piece of coloured felt with a blue, water soluble pen. We then used different coloured thread to sew the beads on, any old bead, any old colour. I also stitched some stars on the felt in the background although it was difficult to see them after all the beads were sewn on. When the shape was getting quite full, I used my sharp embroidery scissors to cut around the shape on the blue line. Some of the beads fell off but not too many. I then filled in the spaces with more beads until it looked great!
Go for it Bine, I stitched Maddi's felt heart onto the backing fabric with tacking stitches in the same colour as the felt. It didn't show at all.
Go for it Bine, the results are so easy to achieve :)

Congratulations on your mini finish! I am so enjoying watching this progress.

I'm not sure about the Eagles, but I do know Dolly Parton did a version.
